Just one more.

Because his morning face is oh so sweet.

A little extra time with this little man makes it totally worthwhile to get up at 5:40am, seven days a week!

Beach Day

This morning we went to meet friends at the beach. My kind of beach day -- cool and overcast! The kids loved running around, playing in the sand and getting wet. And I didn't manage to get a single photo.

Luckily, my friend shared a few pics tonight!

The rest of the day we played in the backyard, drew pictures and lounged on the sofa.
We kicked off summer tonight with a dinner of hot dogs, corn on the cob, peaches and ice cream!

Now we are somewhere in that zone that combines tired, happy, exhausted, overtired and grateful for the extra time together thanks to the long weekend!

Coy boy

I wanted Mac to model his beautiful home made sweater, but he was being very coy about posing!

Finally he cooperated a little...

By the way, the stool was something he dragged outside himself for some unknown purpose but it came in handy here.

Just a few from this Spring

A cool morning in the backyard...

Helping KR and Daddy get ready for a camping trip...

Sitting in a big boy chair for breakfast...

Still love playing with water...

...and Champy!

Another Sunday fun day

*i love posting on Mac's blog through my phone but it drives my crazy that it doesn't always publish!  I wrote this post in March, for example.

Mac and I both like days that start like this:
And this
(on the couch, watching Handy Manny or Dora)...playing with trucks and guys.
And then maybe have some fun like this:

Maybe cap it off with a little of this:

And end it with this:

Mackie do it!

Mac likes to do it all himself these days. Some of it he can actually (usually) do -- like feeding himself and washing his hands.

Some things he just cannot do, but it doesn't stop him from trying. Like reading himself his bedtime stories.
Here he is reading to "Heavy Baby", his name for Big Doll. (I guess he inherited my penchant for really creative naming.)
Last night he read to me.
One of the cutest aspects is that he will remember one or two words from a page and will pretend to read them. Some of his favorite books to quote from are Jamberry, Louie (Ezra Jack Keats), No David No, and Goodnight Moon (in English and Spanish too! Buenos Noches Luna!
